Week18 - Introducing Jody Miller
Why do you like to photograph horses?
My love for horses began as a teenager when I met my first Arabian
gelding. I was amazed by the gentleness of this 1000 lb animal. I
started photographing them while living on a ranch in Southern
California. I am drawn to the energy, beauty and elegance of the horse
and I strive to capture that feeling on film. Over the years my
involvement with horses and photography has always been a passion.
Being around horses gives me of sense of calm and peace.
Why Arizona? What makes Arizona so special for you?
Since moving to Arizona, my passion for horses and photography was
rekindled by the spirit and nostalgia of the old west. I am inspired to
capture the lifestyle of cowboys, cowgirls and the bond they have with
the horse. As I travel the Southwest I have continued to build my
collection of images. With each shoot I reaffirm my love for this
animal. Recently my clients have included Stateline Tack, Smith Brothers, SSG
Gloves, Horse and Rider, Western Horseman, Sturm Ruger and more.
